C5 Aircross PHEV won't run on electric
At certain intervals the fuel tank has to be ventilated. Therefore the car starts in hybrid mode and has to be run on fuel a few kilometers, before it can be switched to electric mode again. I think this ambient mode is explained in the handbook. Sometimes it happends just a restart is enough.

Apart from obviously needing to have a charge in it to begin with, that doesn't make a lot of sense.
The battery surely will be depleting as it is used, so will never be fully charged whilst in use.... So what happens when you do about 10 miles in electric mode, stop the vehicle, do some shopping, get back in - of course the battery won't be fully charged, it will of used about a third of its capacity.
So according to what you are saying you no longer can use electric mode only as it won't be fully charged?

Hi all,
I have the same issue with mine now too, not going to electric due to ambient conditions. The weather is 20 degrees C and dry so am confused as to what is causing it not going to electric. Does anyone know the parameters that need to be met for ambient conditions and what is the fix if there is one. I’ll like to have some info before contacting garage. Thanks

It may be because the battery has become drained over time from pre-delivery / standing and needs a chance to recharge in ICE mode for a while before it gets charged up.

Are you getting a message or fault on the display when trying to go into electric mode?
Had my C5 PHEV for 14 months now. Shortly after taking delivery of the car it would not go into electric mode due to ambient conditions. Often shutting down and restarting would overcome this but not every time. The car went back to the dealer after 3-4 months to fix an unrelated problem. At the same time they advised me a system update had been carried out. Since then I can only recall seeing the problem once.
When I took delivery the electric range showed 39 miles. For the next 9-10 months when fully charged the range would be 29-31 miles. Since then the range has crept up and is now 34-36 miles when fully charged. No systems updates have since been carried out. this incudes the 12 month service and none by myself as I have insufficient broadband speed to download the GBytes of data. I used to be able to check for system updates on the app but since it was updated recently it no longer works properly, wrong milage, all recent trips missing and says no service carried out - so I dont know if any are due.
I do a lot of short journeys on electric only and find the 12v battery under the bonnet needs charging now and again or the central display will not turn on when the car is not powered up and the keyless unlocking becomes hit and miss - I can only guess the battery drain is probably due to the alarm when the vehicle is locked
I too would be interested to know where the aux battery is located in the boot and what it is for.
