Hello,

I have my C5 Aircross for couple of months now. Its a 2019 Shine model with keyless entry.
In the last couple of days, the driver door won't open after I unlock the car.
So, when I approach the car and put my hand on the driver door handle, the car unlocks as normally it should, but then I pull the handle and the door cannot be opened. Other doors are unlocked and can be opened. I have tested on the passenger door side and it works normally, I can unlock and lock, and can open the door via door handle.
Same case is when using key fob buttons to unlock, it behaves the same.

The only way I can open the driver door is by manually inserting the key into the handle and then it will open and I can open the door by pulling the handle, but then the alarm goes off.
Also, driver door could be opened from inside without issue.

I have tried to search for similar issue here on the forum, but haven't been able to find it.

Any tip would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Sounds like the driver door locking actuator is toast - or it may be the electrical supply. First thing to do is to check the condition of the wiring between the A Pillar and the driver door inside the aperture. The wiring passes through into the driver's door via a rubber or plastic grommet protecting the loom. This will need removing so you can check the condition of the wires. Look for breaks or cracks in the sheathing / insulation. This is a weak spot due to opening and closing the door frequently and therefore is why it it most commonly found on the driver's door, being as that is the one used most often.

Hi Juan,

Thank you very much for the detailed explanation what may be the cause.
By the way, today I could open the door normally again, all of a sudden it works again after days of not working at all.
I have booked service for tomorrow, so they can check, because I think that this normal behavior will last only temporarily before it breaks again.
