Hello,
I've read the whole topic and - regarding that there is no fuss in general public about this problem - I would like to ask all who have more information in this field to estimate the probability of this failure.
As far as I inquired different mechanics, official dealers and Citroen owners, there is no such a general problem at all.
I want to determine the level of probability regarding all failure cases vs. amount of sold cars equipped with this motor.
Thank you!

I’ve spoke to 3 dealers in the uk who have a back log of 1.5hdi in various cars awaiting the bits for repair, some of them aren’t even taking anymore in at the moment and some have said that they had recently serviced them and then broke with no warning within a few days/ weeks

Hello
I recorded cold start this morning
I replaced new 7mm chain 2 months ago.
I went to Peugeot service and got diagnostic date next week. The car is still under warranty.
they said they will record the sound, upload to special peugeot app for this issue, and if the app approves, they will change with new kit.

1.2? You do realise that the 1.2 EB2 petrol engines or 'Puretech' as they're known have their own set of issues with wet belts? See the news about Fords with these and PSA are no different. Belts can break up, shred and block the oil strainer, causing oil starvation, lack of engine braking and the like.
I have a 2020 1.5 Blue HDI and have no issues with it at present.
I'm on my 3rd Puretech and have had no issues in 8 years...
