Ah, I wasn't confident I'd done it all correctly, thanks for the guidance.

In an interesting turn of events, even though it has failed multiple times, last night I attempted downloading via the Citroen app and it has actually successfully downloaded and been formatted to my USB for the first time! I will attempt the update tonight and if that doesn't work will follow your steps regarding extracting the correct files. Many thanks Juan.

Just don't use that old version of 7Zip, or you'll end up with problems - it's probably a good idea to update the programme in any case - it's free.

Hi Juan, well after a tense 1hr 20mins sat in my car till 1:10am last night, the Citroen update worked! 🥳

I can't explain why it decided this time to download and install properly from Citroen, although clearly it was my error when downloading your link and doing it manually which explains why it crashed the system.

Thanks so much for your help and patience, sorry to have taken up your time. I think I'll go with the "if it ain't broke..." mantra and leave it alone from now on!

Cheers.

Hi,

I might not be quite in the right place but hope you don't mind me asking. I'm having the same problem with blue screen of death after trying to update touchscreen and maps (sounds the same as the others on here anyway, but our family circumstances mean we've got a C4 space tourer... couldn't find any other online forums that seem as useful as this one though!).

Citroen's advice was just to go back to the app and just download the touchscreen update, ignoring the maps.

Trouble is, nothing will give me the touchscreen update as it thinks we're up to date...

Does anyone know of anywhere else I can download it from before going back to the dealer on Monday?

Thanks

Hi everyone!
First of all thank you @ Juan Sheet for all your advices at this platform.

We have Citroen C3 Aircross 2022. A few weeks ago we did firmware update(44.07.05.22_NAC-r0) without problem. Today my dad decided to do new map update(16.0.0-r0). While everything is okey he plugged in the usb to the car and update is started but after 2 hours later we didn’t see any move after %25 upload level. And he probably turn off the car or removed the usb. And now we see “software loading on demand..” screen. What we need to do? Am ı have to try upload firmware again or just try upload map update again?

Did you first reformat the drive? You must always do this before attempting any other update as there can be files on the USB remaining that can upset the installation. It sounds to ne that you still had the old firmware on the USB and this has attempted to reinstall the firmware update again.....

This is a bad idea if this has happened, as Citroen themselves direct their staff never to update the system with the same firmware twice. The system may now be stuck in between.

I suggest you disconnect the battery in the vehicle for 30 minutes (leave the window open for safety and access), open the bonnet and close all doors and don't open any doors at all for 30 minutes to allow the networks and ECUs to sleep.

Format the USB and make sure only the firmware is extracted to the USB and any licence file, then after 30 minutes, reconnect the battery - leave it for 3 minutes, initialise the fobs and then start the vehicle and insert the USB and see if it starts the update. You MUST leave the vehicle running during the update to prevent economy mode from kicking in.
