I ended up sealing up all the holes around the bug screen with black silicon sealant which worked, I’ve since sold the car though so no idea if it lasted!

Seemed to be an issue with that model due to the poor design of the sunroof surround
Thanks Rob - that's my conclusion too - definitely seems to be a design fault. I'm weighing up whether to push it with Citroen or just change the car (to one with a fixed glass roof or no sunroof!)

Is it possibly the wire bug net isn't folding properly when you close the sunroof?
I took my Aircross to a Citroen dealer and I thought they had sorted the problem. Heavy rain and no leak for a good 4 months or so.
Then I reopened my sunroof and the problem started again.
I was chatting to a VW Toureg owner who had had the same issue and his fault turned out to be the mesh not folding as it should when the sunroof closed.
My bug mesh was wet on the left hand side last time it rained heavily. The middle and right side remained dry.
My car back with Citroen this Friday!

I played about with my bug net yesterday - making sure it folded properly when the sunroof closed.

Since then where I live has had 18 hours of continuous and at time very heavy rainfall. Local roads have started to flood a bit. My C5 Aircross has remained bone dry inside!

I will monitor tomorrow but early test results are very positive. If the bug net doesn't fold properly it acts as a bit of dam and the water build up eventually floods into the car.

I hope this free fix works for you.

Thanks Feyenoorder - I'll have a look at the bug screen too. It has been intermittent for us as well even when really rainy, so it might be getting snagged occasionally when it closes.

Here’s mine after some heavy rain. As soon as I brake for the first time, I get a shower. As I’ve only had the car 1 month and was registered in February 2023 I’m asking Stellantis to fix this.

I checked both sunroof drain tubes using water. RHS empties easily, LHS hardly drains at all. Tried pushing some electrical cable down the tube, it stops dead at about 1.5 mètres. I’m guessing there’s a kink or pinch point there.
Next question is whether to let Citroen disassemble to find the blockage.

Mine has been fixed by my son (former Citroen master technician)
The bottom end of the sunroof drain was touching the wheel arch liner, allowing silt to build up.
