Hi,
I have a 2020 1.2L PureTech 96kW EAT8 which has been parked up since early July whilst I've been travelling.
I asked a neighbour to start it today and they got the following two error messages
Is it ok to initially ignore these as being likely caused by the car sitting idle for 10 weeks and drive the car to see if they re-appear once the tyres are inflated and the handbrake is re-applied or are they serious enough to warrant a tow truck to the Citroen garage?
If I was there myself I'd probably try driving the car for a few minutes to see if they clear.
Thanks.

Car battery is the killer here - nearly 3 months and it will be quite depleted. You have to remember that the battery is being used by systems all the time, not least the car alarm and all the volumetric / perimetric sensors.
The tyres will likely have lost some pressure, so yes, you need to check all the pressures and reinitialise the TPMS system. But I would certainly get the battery on a charge for 24 hours at least.
As for the EPB, that may be because of the discs / pads / calipers seizing through inactivity and damp / corrosion.
I suggest that they are checked and cleaned up, with any rust brushed off and some brake cleaner applied.

It may be an ABS sensor or system fault. The TPMS system uses the ABS sensors to compare wheel rotation speeds with the initiallised standard speeds.
Thanks @routemaster1, it's been a bit of a drama but the garage has concluded that the battery (presumably depleted / not holding enough charge) is the cause of the various warnings.
I don't quite understand how a failing battery can generate Engine and Gearbox specific warnings but if the source and solution to the problem is truly is as simple as installing a new battery then happy days.
Time will tell.

Because a lot of modern electronics require a certain amount of current to operate. Below a certain level they throw a wobbly. There can be in excess of 25 ECUs in these vehicles that all require power to operate and some without the engine running, so the importance of a good healthy battery can't be over-stated. A battery at 5 years of age should really be recycled and replaced.
