Hi,
First post here and straight in with a question.
My mum is looking for a small car, high seating position, and a torque converter auto box. I've had a good look around and it seems the C3 Aircross is the best bet.
She's happy to spend about £10-12K, so I think that would be a 2018-2020 model. I'm looking at the Flair packs, which most seem to be anyway, for the reversing camera among other things.
Is there anything too look out for in particular? I noticed a few are around the 60k mile range, is there a big service item due around that time?
Thanks.
Buying a 2018-2020 C3 Aircross, anything to look out for?

This means that she'll have to have a petrol as the Auto boxes were / are only available on the 130 BHP 1.2 Petrol models.
That being the case and choice, these have a 'belt in oil' system for the timing belt and most of these need it replaced initially at about 62k miles. Annual servicing is critical on these as is the oil specification.

When you find one, make sure it has a fully stamped service record. I'd buy from a dealer as it should have a warranty.
I am on my second C3 Aircross the first was a Flair this one is a Shine Plus. Both were the 1.2 litre engine with 130 bhp.
The torque converter gearbox EAT6 is excellent. It has a snow mode and sports mode. I would think the normal full automatic mode would be best for your mum. It has manual mode too but too be honest I leave mine in Auto.
Mine averages 40 mpg in mainly urban driving.

Read this, something Beanee mentions very important.
Make sure you get the 110bhp not the underpowered 82 bhp.
Also check you have a spare wheel.

Just adding to this..i bought a 2019 C3 110bhp petrol Aircross from Rowcliffe in Veoville, an approved dealer.
They supplied a car that they claimed was bought new from them and full dealer maintained history.
It wasn't and I've had an uphill struggle getting the service history of this vehicle. I have only the service history of the services that i have done to it, 2 years and that's not enough to satify the warrenty.
My car has premature cambelt wear and Citroen will not look at this under any form of warranty even though I bought this car last year from a Citroen dealer forecourt.
Unfortunatly for me, Rowcliffe at Yeoville lied to me on several accounts and did not supply a service book with the car. Since then, this dealer has been taken over by another company who no longer sells or maintains citroen.
So be aware that Citroen UK is currently looking for any reason to dismiss any cambelt liability, even though there is a clear and obvious design fault.
I think this will be the last time I buy a Citreon. It's a brand i no longer trust.

And i bet your not on your own, i would hate to think how many aircross owners do not have a full service history or have their cars serviced by a local garage for cost reasons alone.
As Juan stated correct yearly monitoring of the belt plus the correct oil being used to suit the belt is so important.
Unfortunately i have to pay for yearly extended warranty since my car is close to 4 years old incase of major issues.
