My Car had service and MOT on Wednesday. All ok! When I checked paperwork noted they had used ***5w30*** oil. When I queried this as normally use 0w20 PSA 71 2210, was told oil they used is ok for my car! Doing a search for oil using internet I have found that 5w30 is listed as recommended for my car, along with 0w30 and 0w20! Anyone else experienced this?
My car is Shine + 2021 130 BHP.

I posted the other day about the oil in my C3 2023 Aircross Shine Plus automatic EAT6 130 bhp.
Looking at the internet it says Quartz 0W30, but the dealer who supplied the car new in March 2023 and serviced it last year in March 2024 used 0W20. I went to Halfords to buy oil as my oil light came on, and their magic screen came up with there are several ask an assistant. He told me 0W20 was the one use. I bought a litre, £15.99. Back home I went back on the web and checked again. The spec is as required. I then asked what happens if you mix 0W20 with 0W30. The answer is if it's in equal measures you get 0W25.
In the end I put in 0.2 litre to bring the level up to the top mark on the dip stick. It's due a service in March 2025.
It would appear it's the spec that is the important requirement to protect the CAM belt.

My mother-in-law died in November. We are clearing out her shed, and we found a half-full container of Duckhams. My father-in law died in 2015, and I wonderhow long it had been in there.
