Topped up oil started engine with cap off?
Hi MJJ.
I would imagine provided the oil is at the correct level and the oil cap is properly replaced the system would reset itself and after driving a few miles the light would go out. Regards Kev.

Not necessarily true. I have a C3 1.2 petrol, and as an example. if I park it on an up slope, on starting the oil level warning comes on. If I carry on driving the warning remains. I have to turn off the engine, wait about 60 seconds and then restart. Warning is gone. The car was plagued with an offside blind spot warning for a couple of years which ws difficult to spot. In this case, the 'system active' light on the dash would go out, but that would reset after a few seconds or minutes driving.
