How old is the vehicle and do you have it serviced annually? Get it to the dealer for inspection in case there's a warranty fix for it.

The car is in April 2021 and is out of warranty. I have to pay for any replacement myself. I don't know how urgent it is.
When I do something, I definitely change to 8 mm. It seems that the chain stays dry and then when it starts it scrapes for 2 to 3 seconds.

I understand what you are saying, but PSA know of the issue and are providing a longer period for this particular problem! So ignore the fact your car is out of normal warranty, I think they are offering a 5-7 year warranty for this issue (can't remember which now), so I would certainly check with them before doing anything - because you cannot just put an 8 mm chain in place of a 7mm chain! All the associated parts have to be changed as part of an upgrade.

I'm going to contact PSA and otherwise I know that I have to get something like this and some more gaskets.

Hi, thanks for the info. It’s a sickener finding out about this six months after spending an awful lot of money. I have a 3 year maintenance contract with our local main dealer fortunately. I think I might drop them an email to see what their response is. At least I’ll have a it on record for any future situation. Thanks once again.

Yours is a 2019 vehicle, what do you think? You'd have your answer if you've read any of my posts concerning this in this thread.
