Hello
I'm planning to buy a C5 Aircross 1.5 BlueHDI 2019 year. The seller claims that the 7mm timing belt chain is replaced by a new 8mm chain. To check if the new belt is fitted there is a serial number on the camshaft housing. How can i verify if the timing belt is replaced with the 8mm one with another way that does not include checking the serial number on the camshaft housing as that would not be possible before buying the car?
Thank you!
1.5 BlueHDi engine timing chain information.

You can't - that is the only way, without confirmation from Citroen dealership that the warranty repair has been carried out.

Mine is a March 2023 so guess it's a 7mm chain.

@Scouseathome: Happy to check for you as you have a 2023, just need the VIN.

It's not the cam (timing) belt we are discussing here. It's the camshaft chain. If you have a 1.5 DV5 engine earlier than late 2023 then you likely have the 7mm chain fitted If you have a 2023 model and are not sure and can't see the label as shown in this thread I can check with your VIN.
Hello, I am the owner of a C3 1.5 BlueHDI with 125,000 km and I know that I have a 7 mm chain. For the last couple of days, during the first start in the morning, the chain is scraping for 3 seconds. After that everything is normal . What should i do ?
