How many kilometers did your car have to drive before the chain broke and the engine needed to be replaced?RobertE wrote: ↑Thu Jun 20, 2024 3:03 pm Hi from this newbi from Ireland.
We have a fleet of six 2021 Berlingo vans. About to replace the sixth engine without any help from Citroen.
Does anyone know the date that the cam chain problem was first reported to the dealer network? A copy of a service bulletin would be very useful.
1.5 BlueHDi engine timing chain information.

nobody knows that.ZFCHOPIN wrote: ↑Thu Jun 20, 2024 9:01 am Hello everyone. I went to the local official repair shop yesterday and I have some information to report. They can replace a new 7MM chain, and replace it together with the timing belt and water pump, including a bearing. They asked for 490 euros. I wonder how many kilometers can I run after replacing the new 7MM chain and using 5W-30 oil?

After many different stories from Citroen mechanics about belt, chain and oil I really suspect that 8mm chain can solve this problematic engine.
I am going to change new 7mm chain for around 200 EUR costs to prevent bigger problem. I will let you know if noice disappeared.
I checked with Citroen service about mentioned noice. They noticed that belt is new and did not give any info about possibly fault. After they called me I gave them info about new belt, oil bearings and water pump. Next step logically was that timing chain is problematic and that wrong oil is in the engine. Their offer is 1.500 EUR.SpaceTourer1.5hdi wrote: ↑Sun Jun 16, 2024 10:53 pm My Citroen Spacetourer 1.5 hdi is not producing any sound when is cold. After driving some kind like rubberised sound is comming from timing belt area.
Timing belt, water pump and bearings are new.
Is this connected with 7mm chain or some other engine part?

Hi ConradConrod wrote: ↑Sun Apr 07, 2024 8:14 am A quick update to my previous posts regarding my Vauxhall Vivaro C/K0 van - which may also be useful to any Peugeot Expert 3 or Citroen Dispatch 3 owners who, like me, came across this thread via a Google search on the 1.5 BlueHDi camchain issue.
I have finally managed to find a Spanish version of the Stellantis bulletin on the 8mm upgrade kit which states the following:
"This update applies to all vehicles equipped with DV5R engines, except for K0 Utility or Industrial Vehicles (UV) with DV5RUx engines, which are fitted as standard with this upgrade."
So, it would appear that, unlike the cars, all K0 vans (Vivaro C, Expert/Dispatch 3) with DV5RUx engines were supplied with modified engines as standard.
Hmmmm.....
I don't suppose you have a link to the Spanish version of the Stellantis bulletin?
Wanting to change the oil on my Vivaro van and wondering if to stick with the 0W20 or go to the new 5W30?
Anyone any idea where to buy the new oil?
Will this meet the warrant requirements: RAVENOL VMP SAE 5W-30

This is really valuable info that the official service offers 7mm chain change. As I know they are mostly providing expensive upgrades to 8mm chain. The second issue is oil specifications changes.
I believe that is possible to find more issues that correlate with car dealer market behavior.
Additionally, car dealers have different warranty periods in every EU country.
All this should be brought to the European parliament- Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection.
