Android Auto with Samsung S23
Hi, was anyone able to connect Samsung S23 to C5 using Android Auto? For me it cannot connect via USB (did not try BT yet, as I don't know how to do that
). My older phone (Huawei) was working fine via USB. I read on the internets there are some issues with Samsung recent phones and Android Auto, but not sure if anybody got it working (via USB or BT). Thanks.

You can't connect to Android Auto via Bluetooth on this C5 Aircross. It needs a wired connection. Only some later vehicles (Like DS) with Android Auto Wireless technology fitted will work without a cable. Samsung have dropped 'Mirror Link' support, but Android Auto should work.
It's very important to make sure:
1) Your Head Unit in the vehicle has the most recent firmware update
2) Your Smartphone has the latest software update, and
3) The most common issue and the most overlooked is using a proper branded cable. Cheap cables should be avoided especially on car telematics systems where they can cause damage from low quality and unregulated cables.
4) Make sure you have not other USB hub or splitter attached to the USB port, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will not work when used with a USB splitter / hub.

Thanks for your response.
1) I'll go to my dealer next week so I'll make sure to have the latest vehicle firmware update.
2) I do have the latest sw update on the phone.
3) Yes, I was thinking of buying a new cable, but I assumed that the cable worked with my older phone so it would not be an issue.
4) No USB hub in my vehicle.

Ok, be aware that the dealer will charge you labour for applying any firmware updates! All they will do is charge you £100 labour for sitting drinking a coffee in your car for an hour whilst the update is done.
These updates are designed for the customer to install like the maps. Your MyCitroen App should tell you if there is an update. Citroen have software that allow you to download the updates to your PC (if you have one) and will guide you through preparing a USB key for the firmware update. It's then a matter of following the instructions, keeping the car engine running and letting the system update.

Oooh, this is an interesting thread. We picked our C5 Aircross up on Saturday and I spent too much time on Sunday trying to get Android auto to work, only to fail miserably. When I got home I tried a different cable and voila - it worked straight away
If your USB cable worked with your old phone, it should work on the new phone too, but might be worth trying another...
I did a long trip in the C5 today and the sat nav annoyed me by insisting that I go its way, rather than the way I wanted to go - popped Google Maps on via Android Auto and had a completely different (nice) experience. Google maps looks much nicer on the car screen than on the phone.
Bloomin lane departure steering correction feature was annoying too - need to work out how to turn it off

My car was at the dealer for regular maintenance after 1 year so I got the latest software installed (or so they said) but still I can't get my S23 to connect via Android Auto (USB). I already tried 1 other cable, but I guess I need to purchase a Samsung USB cable, just to be sure.

Samsung phones are notoriously bad at this. I think just about every issue I've dealt with here and elsewhere has been with Samsung devices.
At least if you can rule out your phone, you may be able to take this up with Samsung.

I am just off the phone from network provider and the guy was brilliant at helping me get my wife's s22 linked with her C3....on phone go into Settings, General Management, Reset, Reset mobile network settings. Then switch phone off then power back on.... Android Auto will then work
I have used an S23 Ultra very successfully with my car, and am now using an S24 Ultra quite happily. So much so that I bought a wireless adaptor for Android Auto so I don't have yo use a cable at all. However, I do know that when using a cable, it needs to be a very good one, not a cheap Chinese copy. I only use Samsung's own when I need a cable,
