Re: Start up error messages

Because a lot of modern electronics require a certain amount of current to operate. Below a certain level they throw a wobbly. There can be in excess of 25 ECUs in these vehicles that all require power to operate and some without the engine running, so the importance of a good healthy battery can't ...

Re: C5 Aircross PHEV won't run on electric

Ok, that's more like it - a standard ancillary battery, so that's currently £178 from the dealer. 👀

The actual traction battery for the PHEV however is £6.6 to £7.8k retail.

Re: 1.5 BlueHDi engine timing chain information.

There are a few things here to note: One is a straightforward replacement of the 7mm chain for another 7mm chain - which is what some are doing to err on the safe side. Nothing else needs replacing. Then there is the official repair once damage has already occurred - that's what the technical docume...

Re: adblue message

Re: adblue message

That's the reason I have used it from the get-go, as a preventative measure. I always top up my tank every 3 months or so with a min of 5-6 litres. I pre-mix my Adblue container with the appropriate amount of Wynn's, so it's already mixed whenever I top it up. This will help prevent crystallisation ...

Re: adblue message

I've been using Wynn's Anti-Crystallisation in my Adblue mixture for years and it's great for avoiding problems - but there are some cheap UREA out there, so be careful to make sure that whatever you use, it meets the specifications required.

Re: C5 Aircross PHEV won't run on electric

That's the cost - thought you'd want to be prepared.... For the exact one, I'd need your VIN, but as I said it depends on which battery this is. But if it's just the VLV network separation device, then a more reasonable £382 - £735 - again depending on model and device. Pop a picture up of the one c...

Re: Broken windscreen

Yes, mine went too for no apparent reason - a crack from the side, but I refused to travel 130 miles to their calibration centre, and told them I will be having the camera calibrated at my dealership and they can reimburse me - which they did. The camera is of course used for active safety brake / c...
